Moths on Flowers
Birds, butterflies, and flowers, All make one band of paramours. -William Wordsworth
With the help of a 10 watt head lamp and a 1975 Pentax 120 mm macro lens, these photographs were taken of moths nectaring on flowers in their natural habitat. Since there is not much room for full color figures in scientific journals, I wanted to reserve this space to allow more viewing potential of these phenomena. All photos below were taken at the Ordway Swisher Biological Research Station, Putnam Co. Florida, USA. For more details see the publication.
